About us
Understanding what you need most is what we do best
Former, current and future expatriates have unique needs that often require understanding complicated international laws related to immigration and retirement. At Excellium Conseil, our experts understand those needs and work with expatriates as they navigate these complexities, ensuring that they comply with local laws during expatriation and fully benefit from their pensions when the time comes.
Founded by two professionals with over 20 years each of expertise in international immigration, Excellium Conseil has been built on its founders’ complementary first-hand personal and professional experiences in international tax law, mobility, compensation, benefits and expatriation. Both as actors and observers of the evolution of international mobility policies over time, Excellium Conseil’s founders have focussed their service offering on supporting expatriates during their careers for immigration matters and at the end of their careers as they seek to collect retirement benefits from the different places across the globe where they have worked.
The founders
Christophe Soulard
After receiving his law degree in 1997, Christophe Soulard spent the next eight years working as tax lawyer, primarily focussing on international corporate mobility. From there, he transitioned to leading the compensation and benefits function for a network of international development organisations located in 30 countries and employing over 90,000 people. During his 15 years in that position, Christophe had the opportunity to work closely with executives and mid-level managers at the end of their careers in securing pension benefits accrued during their employment at home and abroad. As the head of Excellium Conseil’s International Retirement Benefits unit, Christophe has a clear understanding of the challenges faced by expatriates when they retire and uses his expertise to help obtain and maximise their international pension payments.
Stéphanie Carlier
Shortly after graduation, Stéphanie Carlier decided to put her degree in international business and economics to use by immigrating to the United States. For the following 15 years, she worked in a variety of positions and industries, becoming an American citizen along the way. Stéphanie returned to France in 2004 to manage international mobility for a foundation, where, for 15 years, she supported immigration for colleagues transferring internally between countries where the foundation was present and new hires joining the foundation. She also worked closely with diplomatic presences around the world on business visas and with local authorities in France to ensure compliance for the foundation’s expatriate staff. Stéphanie’s own experience of life with two nationalities, as well as her professional experience with immigration matters for nationals from over 20 different countries, mean that she is uniquely well positioned to lead Excellium Conseil’s Immigration unit.
